To northwest flow'ers and all others interested, The next meeting of Cascade Cytometry User's Group will April 5, 2005 on the OHSU campus in MRB 310 at 6pm. Adam Treister (of FlowJo) will be presenting on the technique of probability binning. What is da Noise, What is da Funk? Statistical methods to compare biological populations Probability binning is a method related to the Cox chi-square approach, but with modified binning such that it minimizes the maximal expected variance. This algorithm has been shown to detect small differences between two cell populations and it does so in a quantitative way.
