Currently, alpha-GalCer (KRN7000) can only be supplied to research groups in non-profit institutes (for non-clinical use), after successful completion of a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) with the Pharmaceutical Division of Kirin Brewery Company Limited. Generally, you will need to send a research proposal for collaborative research to Kirin, which will then be reviewed by Kirin's Scientific Committee, and if approved, negotiations for an MTA with your institute will be started. This process takes a few months. As GalCer is a popular and powerful commodity, Kirin is understandably careful about it's distribution, but I haven't had any problem working with them.	The best person to contact is Shigeyuki Yamano, PhD, the Manager for the R & D Collaboration section at Kirin. His e-mail is syamano@kirin.co.jp. Good Luck!

Dear Flowers,

I want to use alpha galactosyl Ceramide for NK cell related studies. Is it commercially available?
Can any user provide the source?

Sincerely,
Alamelu Raja
