Detection of Viruses on a FACSCalibur?

Hi Flowers,

Just like to ask if anyone out there ever attempted running viruses on a
FACSCalibur?

The size we are talking about ranges approx. 30 nanometers (e.g.
coliphages)

We have a few models that we operate on.....BD's FACSCalibur, Coulter's
EPICS XL and EPICS ALTRA. We feel that the benchtop versions (FACS and
XL) generates more "noise" than the ALTRA. Any comments or explanation
for this?

Our objective is to ultimately be able to detect viruses on benchtop
models, but at present, that seems pretty impossible. The benchtops
generate so much 'noise' that we feel, buries the virus population.

Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Regards

Daffy
