.and furthermore.. Mario Roederer quietly alerts me to the fact that the floating point data type is indeed not new in FCS3.0. I was subverted to that view because most if not all manufacturers use integer data type in their FCS2.0 outputs. So my earlier comments still stand; it's just not true to say that FCS2.0 files *cannot* have floating point data, only that, generally speaking, they *do not*.
