analysis of mixed primary cultures of neurons

Has anyone ever tried to analyze a mixed population of neuronal cells
from rat embryo primary culture. I have been trying, unsuccessfully,
to count a small population (up to 10%) of neurons that are tyrosine
hydroxylase positive from a larger mixed population of cells that
includes glia, and neurons that are and are not tyrosine hydroxylase
positive. My strategy has been to label intracellular antigens that
correspond to neurons (MAP2) and tyrosine hydroxylase.	I found only
one reference that was specific for analyzing mixed neuronal cultures.
If anyone has any experience analyzing neuronal cultures I would
greatly appreciate your input.	Any general comments would also be
welcomed. Thanks in advance for your help.
