I recommend you look into the work of Rick Bucala. He has published 12 articles over the past 10 years on cells he refers to as "fibrocytes" - fascinating stuff. Rick is almost as enthusiastic about fibrocytes as he is about MIF, which he has coauthored more than 100 publications over the same time period. The fibrocyte story is gaining some momentum now. I have great admiration for Rick becauses he continues to publish on these cells in the face of great opposition from the proponents of dogma that frequently dismiss his work as artifact. These cells don't quite fit into the current paradigms of cells found in peripheral blood. I am curious about why you refer to your cells as stem cells - by what definition? Best regards, Tom Delohery I think our new official name is Sanofi-Aventis.... not quite sure which group I'll end up in; hoping for global head of flow cytometry. Every pharma needs one don't you think? Brian Newsom wrote: >I am staining a novel stem cell that is adherent and has morphology similar >to a fibroblast.
