The Ultipor membrane is OK with Ethanol (see http://www.pall.com/semiconductor_2532.asp ). I admit there are components in the cartridge other than the membrane that may be affected as we have found with acrodisc syringe filters, however the web page referenced mentions "Filter Cartridges", not just the membrane, and we have had no problem leaving the filter in line while we run 75% EtOH.
