Flow Cytometrist Positions Open

The David H. Smith Center for Vaccine Biology and Immunology, and the Human
Immunology Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center has two
immediate openings for flow cytometrists.

Position I: BD FACS Aria high-speed cell sorter Operator
This position has the primary responsibility for the cell sorting needs of
the center and maintaining the sorter.	This individual is expected to apply
a high level of user capability, and also interface with and assist Center
investigators on a variety of projects. Candidates must have prior
experience with operating a multi-color cell sorter. 

Position II:  BD LSR-II analytical flow cytometer Operator and lab tech.
This position has the primary responsibility for analytical needs of the
newly created Human Immunology Center. This individual will participate in
developing advanced immunological techniques that include but are not
limited to flow cytometry.   Candidates with prior experience in immunology
and multicolor flow cytometric analysis and ELISPOT assays are preferred. 

Candidates for both positions must have a minimum of two years experience in
a biology laboratory environment and the ability to communicate with
researchers of all levels including Principal Investigators.  Though
significant training will be provided, the successful candidates must
possess a sufficient understanding of instrumentation to learn, optimize and
maintain the cytometers. Experience with flow cytometric data analysis and
software is a plus.
