Dear colleagues:

Nicholas Terry and I cordially invite you to participate in the workshop entitled "Flow
Cytometry, Confocal Microscopy and Fluorometry to Study Apoptotic Mechanisms" on Thursday
May 27, 2004 at the XXII ISAC International Congress in Montpellier, France.

In this workshop, we plan to discuss the advantages and the limitations of commonly used
techniques including flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and fluorometry to study
apoptotic mechanisms. Participation of conference attendees in this workshop is highly
encouraged in areas including but not limited to the detection of caspases and
mitochondrial membrane transmembrane potential.

Application of other emerging techniques is also highly encouraged.

Inasmuch as the numbers of laboratories that are engaged in studying the mechanisms of
cell death are rapidly expanding, it is not surprising that there are issues that need to
be clarified. We hope that this will be an excellent forum for this purpose.

Feel free to contact us via e-mail if you plan to present your data in this workshop.

See you all in Montpellier soon.
