Dear colleagues, Many of us using DNA dyes as an exclusion criteria for dead cells . What do you think about the recent article in Science (5 March 2004 vol. 303 p1532) about Neutrophil extra-cellular traps. The idea is that, upon activation, neutrophils form the NETs that sticks to bacteria. DNA is a major component if these NETs. Authors do not completely dismiss the possibility that it may be an early event of the apoptosis. But this process is of physiologically active cell and depends on dose of activator. In short , do you think that we may introduce bias in our study by excluding DNA-dye-labeled neutrophils. DenisReceived on Mon May 3 12:38:00 2004
