The main duties of this position are to run, in conjunction with the other Core operator, the two BD Vantage sorters (and SE and a FACSDiVa) for researchers. Maintenance, QC, user training on benchtop (FACSCalibur) instruments, and other duties will be assigned depending on skill level. The RT II position requires one year of sorter experience, while the RT III requires three years minimum. In addition to cytometry skills, experience with tissue culture, blood preparation, and cell staining are desired. Strong computer skills are necessary, as well as the ability to work independently. The Gladstone Institutes are affiliated with UCSF and focus on cardiovascular disease, neurosciences, and HIV-AIDS.
