From: Marty Bigos <mbigos@gladstone.ucsf.edu>
Date: Fri Apr 16 2004 - 11:50:59 EST
I have not yet filled the operator position in our flow core, so I am
reposting the offer. Preferably I would like to hire someone with at
least a year of sorter operator experience, but I am willing to train
the right person with less experience.

The job description is reprinted below, and is listed as Job# V03-08W
on our web site
http://www.gladstone.ucsf.edu/gladstone/site/positions/

Please send me you CV and cover letter if interested.

Operator, Gladstone Flow Core.
Research Technologist II-III: cell sorter operator position available.

The main duties of this position are to run, in conjunction with the
other Core operator, the two BD Vantage sorters (and SE and a
FACSDiVa) for researchers. Maintenance, QC, user training on benchtop
(FACSCalibur) instruments, and other duties will be assigned
depending on skill level. The RT II position requires one year of
sorter experience, while the RT III requires three years minimum. In
addition to cytometry skills, experience with tissue culture, blood
preparation, and cell staining are desired. Strong computer skills
are necessary, as well as the ability to work independently.

The Gladstone Institutes are affiliated with UCSF and focus on
cardiovascular disease, neurosciences, and HIV-AIDS. The Flow Core
services a diverse range of projects from the Gladstone, UCSF, and
several commercial entities, although the focus of most is cell and
molecular biology and immunology.
