Dear Flow Community,
The FloCyte Regional Training Program Basic Flow Cytometry Course
is coming again to NYC, if you missed the first one, this is your
chance. We had such an outstanding response, we have scheduled another
course for those who weren't able to attend the first one in January. This
will be the same curriculum, the basic technology and techniques of flow
cytometry, however we are excited to offer an optional extra day of
instrument training on one of the instruments there. This added day will
benefit particularly those with no hands on experience on a flow cytometer,
who want to learn how to approach the machine and even put a sample on
themselves. When we offered this extra time on the instrument at the last
two courses, the students said it brought all the information together for
them, giving them a more complete understanding of flow cytometry. The
number of slots for this extra day are very limited however, since we teach
it in very small groups or 3-4 students..... so if you feel it would be
beneficial for you, be sure to register quickly to reserve your place. I
know most of you on this list have an excellent understanding of flow,
however I'm sure there are novices in your institution who would benefit
from a better understanding of what is happening inside the flow cytometer
and how to get better data out of it. This is an excellent course for
them. Please pass this on to those folks. A Benefit of a better
understanding of flow cytometry is more use of it as a research tool. Our
previous hosts have found that their core facilities are now being used by
new researchers and more often.
This course will be held at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer
Center, April 20-22, from 12-5 and April 23 for your small group experience
on an instrument. Registration is available only at the website
www.flocyte.com. We accept Master Card and VISA. Respond to this email
address FloCyte@cox.net if you have any questions.	Hope to see you in
New York City in April.
