Detecting microchimerism in blood

Hi Flow Folks

I have an investigator who is looking to develop an assay to relate
level of persistent fetal derived mononuclear cells in female stem
cell donors to engraftment. this may either be mature or immature
cells, but she would like to identify these cells by detecting H-Y
antigen encoded proteins or the Y chromosome itself...does anyone
have any suggestions here? Are there flow assays that might do
this...I could think that flow fishing might work, but I do not know
of any particular Y antigen specific proteins that might be surface
expressed...except for the remote control gene...

Any ideas?

Thanks, Jonni
