The CDC guidelines in the MMWR say that specimens are to be handled in a
class I or II biological safety cabinet. This is not regulation, but a
standard of practice.

Subject: Flow Safety Hood

Dear Flow-ers,
In a clinical setting, for CD4 enumeration (HIV+) and LLP (BM, Nodes,
FNA) does anyone know if there are regulations requiring the use of a
hood for sample prep or is it just Good Lab Practice?

Thanx for your input,
