We have done work on looking at the oxidative process in spinal cord

"The increase of reactive oxygen species and their inhibition in an isolated guinea pig
spinal cord compression model",
Luo,J, Li, N., Robinson, J.Paul, & Shi, R.,
J Biomech Eng 124:214-222, 2002.

"Detection of reactive oxygen species by flow cytometry after spinal chord injury"
Luo, J. Li, N., Robinson, J. Paul, & Shi, R.,
Journal of Neuroscience Methods 120:105-112, 2002

We used the same dyes. I think you will see some solutions to the issues in these manucripts.
