Hi, I tried to send you the answers about the oxidative burst, but the mails came back. So I try thi way. First mail Luigi, We have done hundreds of oxidative burst on patients that are being screened for Chronic Granulomatous Disease. The normal range in our lab for pediatrics is the same as the adult range. There is no difference between the two groups. We use something called a stimulation index. We place the unstimulated cells in channel ten (on a log scale). Then we run the stimulated and unstimulated samples. We divide the stimulated geometric mean by the unstimulated geometric mean. The resulting number is the stimulation index or S.I. In our lab an S.I. greater than 115 is considered normal.
