Hello,
Is anyone experiencing Medicare REJECTION in payment for the lower paid
unit of either 88342 (immunoperoxidase, each stain) or 88180 (flow
cytometry, each marker) if both tests are ordered together. What it appears
Medicare is saying is that you cannot do both CPTs on the same person.
They will only reimburse the lower cost unit. This does not appear to be
good medical practice as both work to provide a diagnosis for the patient.

Is anyone familiar or experiencing this payment rejection and/or can help
us know what they are doing in this situation.	I'd also appreciate knowing
if you are not experiencing this. I am not sure if it is limited to Hawaii
or the states Medicare services that includes our state.

thanks
bessie
