Sorry it has taken so long to get back to this... Just to be absolutely clear - I'm only talking about using CellQuest for analysis. I haven't dreamt of trying acquisition from an OS X machine as I suspect the chance of that working are close to zero... Anyway, to get it working I simply installed CellQuest 3.3 and the BD Inits v3.4.1 from the "FACStation Software v3.5" CD. CellQuest has worked fine in this installation on several machines (G3 & G4 iMacs, G4 towers) running both OS X 10.1 and OS X 10.2. It works with either a USB dongle or an ADB dongle (via a Griffin iMate with the latest version of the OS X drivers). The "Read Me" on the FACStation 3.5 CD is dated March 2002 and contains the following which might be relevant... >-BD Inits v3.4.1 supports BD FACStation systems with MacŪ OS 9.0 >through 9.2.2. >-BD Inits v3.4 supports BD FACStation systems with Mac OS 7.6.1 through 8.6. Looking at what they install the difference is in the version of the BDPAC files (3.4 installs v1.3f and 3.4.1 installs v1.4). However, I just started CellQuest on G4 iMac with BDPACDriver 1.3f and it was fine... (ie the difference might not be relevant for analysis). Installing all the inits will produce an error everytime you start Classic (because a cytometer can't be detected). I believe the absolute minimum you need to run it for analysis is AcqLibPPC and possibly BDPACdriver (not sure about that, I forgot to test it). AcqLibPPC is at v 3.2.1 from both version of the Init install. If you have AcqLibPCC 3.2.1 I would try disabling all the other BD Inits and see if that helps getting CellQuest started.
