My observation is the there is a BIG difference whether you are using a G3 or a G4 Mac. G3s gave us trouble in many levels one being the inability to seeing the OS X generated files. G4s did not have the problem running them in OS (x with the old CQ (3x). Just go under the "Open with" heading in the file info panel of your CellQuest doc, and browse to the application you want the file to open with. You can even specify to apply these changes to all similar docs on your Mac automically (click on "change all...") As by magic, you will see the icons of Cellquest docs change from OSX-style (CQ Pro) to OS9-style (CQ3.3). Maybe this will help. Also, if you want to open CellQuest 3.3 docs within OSX, make sure "Classic" (OS9) is running. Usually, Classic will start automatically if the file you're trying to open requests a Classic app, but it may be different with CellQuest, and you would get the error message you mentioned.
