Sorting Isolated Cardiac Myocytes

I would like some input regarding investigators' experience with using flow
cytometry to sort isolated cardiac myocytes by size. These rod-shaped cells
range in size from 1,000 to 100,000 cubic microns with quite a lot of
variability even within a normal heart. Typical dimensions are: 120 microns
long by 18 microns wide by 10 microns thick. My goal would be to sort the
cells into broad size ranges (e.g. quartiles). Has anyone done this? What
sized aperture would be needed?, etc...

Thanks,
