Alan, Commonly HbA and HbF are "stained" with antibodies are available from Perkin Elmer Wallac, Norton, OH & Caltag Laboratories, Burlingame, CA. The are labeled with FITC and PE. Rhodamine tagged antibodies are described in the literature, but I do not know if they are commercially available. If possible, post a summary of your responses, as hemoglobin quenching of fluorescence is a suspected confounding variable for the interpretation of studies using FITC and PE. Jeffery L.
