David, I built a 20L Cubitainer sheath and waste system for our Scan and Calibur with about $40.00 worth of lumber and parts from Home Depot, but then I'm a handy guy! Gene/UCONN Health ---------- From: David.McFarland@mcmail.vanderbilt.edu To: cyto-inbox Subject: water bath Date: Thursday, March 25, 1999 3:14PM We just had a used FACStar+ installed and now we're in the market for a used recirculating water bath. (Dem new ones ain't cheap!) I've come across two flavors. One just recirculates water around the sample and collection tubes. The other is a real bath that you also place the sheath tank in. Do I really need to keep the sheath at temp? Also, we're considering a Time Zero module from Cytek for Calcium flux experiments. I invite any comments on this system. We also have a FACSCalibur and I'm wondering how well Cytek's 20L Cubitainer sheath and waste system works. Is it worth the $2450 to not have to empty/fill the fluids every couple of hours? I look forward to your replies. David McFarland Howard Hughes Medical Institute Flow Cytometry Facility Vanderbilt University Medical Center
