Dear all, Wayne Green wondeed why his recovery was low when sorting C. elegans. Wayne was using a Vantage with a 100 micron tip (no Macro Sort). The embryos are 50x30 microns size. I feel that the size of the embryos is the problem. As a rule of thumb I believe that the tip diameter should be 3 or 4 times the size of the largest particle being sorted to achieve efficient recovery, i.e. 150-200 microns in this case.
