Apoptosis analysis on biohazardous samples

I have been reviewing different methods of apoptosis analysis, and was
wondering :

1- Can cells labeled with Annexin-V (FITC) (for example) antibody be fixed
with paraformaldehyde 2% and then read the next day? 

2- or....is there another method that I should consider for biohazardous
samples?
