Symposium Announcement: Recover High Secretors or Rare Cells A Symposium on Gel Microdrop Technology for Rapid Cell Line Enrichment November 12 & 13, 1998 Cambridge Marriott Hotel Cambridge, Massachusetts U.S.A. Technical Focus: One Cell Systems, Inc. has developed a new system for screening cell lines for high secretors and rare cells. Gel Microdrop Single Cell Encapsulation Assays permit isolation of individual cells based on the amount of secreted protein. Producer cells can be screened directly after fusion or transfection. Using FACS, high secretors and rare cells can be recovered for cloning or gene analysis in days instead of the weeks to months that are usually required for limiting dilution cloning. Productivity and yields are increased while development time and costs are reduced. Speakers include: Greg Thill, Ph.D., Senior Scientist, Biogen Corporation "My Year with the GMD Secretion Assay" Jerry Carson, Senior Scientist, BASF Bioresearch Corporation "GMD Assay for Selecting Cell Lines and Monitoring Expression" Laura Chiu, Research Associate, Amgen Corporation "Isolation of High Protein Secretors from Cells Transfected with Fc Fusion Protein" Todd Parker, Research Biologist, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention "GMD Assays for Emerging Infectious Diseases" Visit One Cell Systems' Symposium Web Site at http://www.onecell.com/syminfo.htm for more information and to register for the program.
