Upgrading the Elite with a modern PC is a hit-and-miss affair. Basically the various motherboards on offer sometimes work and sometimes they don't. The only way to test it is to try it. We have a good working relationship with our local PC builders such that if a system doesn't work with the Elite lister card, they just swap it for one with a different board untill we find one that does. Not scientific, I know, but with board sales lifetimes numbered in only two or three months, thats the best you can do. Things to watch 1) Elite ISA board IRQ is 7 2) Reserve Memory mapped area for incoming data at CC00:0000 + 4Kb These must be reserved from Plug and Play set up Device and Mode commands must be set for video cards to run DOS software if weird characters are seen Config.sys: device=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\display.sys con=(ega,,1) Country=044,850,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\country.sys REM Country 044.... line is for UK, USA not needed Autoexec.bat mode con codepage prepare=((850) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi) mode con codepage select=850 keyb uk,,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\keyboard.sys REM Keyb uk.... line is for UK, USA not needed PATH=%PATH%;C:\ELITE; These commands were usually installed during the old DOS days but windows doesn't use them anymore.
