RESEARCH ASSISTANT/RESEARCH OFFICER CELLULAR ANALYSIS FACILITY UNIVERSITY OF NSW The Cellular Analysis Facility is a new cross-Faculty initiative aimed to provide state of the art cellular analysis facilities on the UNSW campus. The Facility will combine existing equipment, including a MoFlo high speed cell sorter and a confocal microscope, with a Laser Scanning Cytometer currently being purchased. The Facility will be used by researchers within the Faculties of Life Sciences, Medicine and Engineering, and from outside, and will operate on a user-pays basis. The appointee will oversee the establishment of this facility. Duties will include setting up and operating the Laser Scanning cytometer, providing expert advice and assistance to users of all three instruments, scheduling of users, promoting use of the facility amongst researchers both on and off campus, and establishing systems for financial management of the facility. Essential criteria: a BSc or equivalent experience and a knowledge of EEO/AA principles. Desirable criteria: experience with flow cytometry in a research context, particularly cell sorting; experience with other laser-based cellular analysis systems including confocal microscopy; extensive computer experience on both DOS/Windows and Macintosh platforms. Experience in management of a cytometry facility, a higher degree, and/or an entrepreneurial outlook would be an advantage.
