Flow Cytometry Core Manager

A position for Manager (Staff Scientist) of a new Flow Cytometry Core
is currently being established to support research within the
Medicine Branch, Division of Clinical Sciences, NCI.

The Medicine Branch encompasses not only a clinical program in adult
oncology but basic and translational research in the areas of cancer
cell biology, tumor and transplantation immunology and pharmacology.
The core facility will include a three-laser FACSVantage equipped for
high-speed sorting and multiparameter analysis, including DNA and
calcium flux analyses.

The primary responsibilities of the Core Manager include (1)
developing a state of the art facility in cytometry, supervising the
operation of the Core, nad training support personnel in performing
data collection and analysis, (2) providing consultation to
researchers on experimental design, sample preparation and data
interpretation, (3) actively collaborating with branch members in
research involving flow cytometry and (4) developing and adapting
innovative flow cytometric technologies.  The position requires an
M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree and/or extensive experience in flow
cytometry.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

The initial appointment can be made up to 5 years, with a possibility
