Hello everyone,
I wanted to confirm the comments Simon Monard regarding the
aerosol containment system available for the Cytomation MoFLo. As he
mentioned,
the biosafety guidelines published in Cytometry 28:99-117 would be the
first step. Also
consult HSS Publication No. (CDC) 93-8395, "Biosafety in Microbiological
and
Biomedical Laboratories", US Dept. of Health and Human Services 1993.
We must emphasize that when using BL2 or BL3 level pathogens, flow
systems must be contained in the appropriate biosafety lab. The
containment system we provide for the MoFLo ( as I suppose is also the
case for the B-D system ) is only an adjunct to maintain these
conditions.
