The most common cause of "insufficient memory" is not allocating enough
memory for the application you are using. To solve this, select the icon
for the application and hit command + I (= get info). In the resulting
window you can see how much memory is currently allocated. You can then
type in a higher amount if needed. Then restart the application.
If this doesn't help, or your machine doesn't have much RAM to begin
with, try using the new RamDoubler program. This program uses hard disk
space to act as RAM much the same as virtual memory, but is more
efficient at doing so. The limitation with this, however, is that 1)
virtual memory must be turned off, 2) some applications prefer virtual
memory over RamDoubler memory, and 3) your machine must have 32 bit
addressing. To solve the later problem on older machines (non-powerMacs)
you need the 32 bit extension file. This is an icon with a big 32 on it
found in your extensions folder. I have successfully used Ram Doubler on
both a Mac Quadra 660AV and an old MacIIx. However, neither machine is
running flow software, so I don't know how compatible it may be with
Cell Quest.

Good Luck!
