Position Title: Flow Cytometry Instructor I
Location: San Jose, CA
Hiring Supervisor: Donna Gandour
Description:
Responsible for developing and conducting flow cytometer training
courses for customers and employees. Assists with development of
customer training programs. Prepares lesson plans, laboratory
exercises, training guides, and other course materials to support
training plan. Presents customer training programs following training
plan and standard lesson plans. Presents classroom lectures, conducts
laboratory training sessions, administers examinations, and prepares
student evaluations. Follows up to determine applicability of course
material. Modifies training program as appropriate. Maintains
classrooms, laboratories, and associated equipment. Provides training
at customer facilities, including initial and follow up training, as
scheduled by management.
Qualifications:
Typically requires a BS in a related scientific discipline, or a BA in
Education with a scientific minor and two years of laboratory
experience or technical training experience, or equivalent combination
of related technical education and experience. Requires 2 years of
flow cytometry experience preferably with BD equipment. Effective
troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills, written and
oral communications skills required.

Location: San Jose, CA

Description:
Responsible for developing product evaluation and training programs
for BDIS employees and customers. Coordinate with flow cytometry
instructors to maintain and update materials for current customer
courses. Design and assist in delivering basic product training
programs for new employees, and in-depth training for field
representatives. Prepare lesson plans, exercises, training guides,
and other course materials to support the trainings. Monitor success
of trainings. Design, coordinate, and deliver trainer-the trainer
product trainings for instructors and applications specialists.
Provide back-up assistance to flow instructors for delivering customer
training courses. Assist senior instructors in training new
instructors, and in making improvements to the training process for
new flow cytometry instructors. Design and implement customized
product trainings for different departments based on function and
needs (e.g. Quality Control, Research, etc.).
Qualifications:
Typically requires a Masters in Instructional Technology and two years
of laboratory experience. Requires a minimum of one year experience
as a senior flow cytometry instructor at BDIS, or equivalent
combination of related technical education and experience. Effective
troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills, written and
oral communications skills required.
