Hello everyone, We would like to use flow cytometry to detect (and quantitate) the PMN cells that have in them an immediate-early antigen for CMV. The test is performed for many transplant recipients who may be acutely infected with CMV. The technique used so far (fluorescent microscopy counting 50,000 separated PMN cells) is laborious and inaccurate. Flow cytometry (after permeabilizing the cells) would be much better. Anyone with experience or suggestions? The test is valuable for many patients. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
