high speed sorting

We have problems with the turbo sort option on a FACStar Plus. We observe 
strong disturbance of the SSC and also FSC when the amplitude is to high 
(30 psi). At lower amplitude, the drop delay is too long. 
Has anyone an idea how the cell scatter can be improved?
