2nd laser CVs

Hi - thanks for all the responses so far, lots of good info.
and suggestions. I'll try to summarize and post later.

Out of 11 responses so far, most people with standard
commercial sorters can get 2nd laser CVs the same or very
close to the 1st - usually a little higher.

As Jim Slattery pointed out, the reason I'm getting the
very high CVs is scattered laser light off the first laser
getting through my filters. I can eliminate most of this
by closing down the aperature. Most of my problem can be
resolved by aligning this aperature. The bad part is my
2nd laser PMT housing does not align with the aperature.
The openings in the housing are in the plane for the
fluorescence of the 1st laser. But at least I know now.

2nd QUESTION: How many people using dual-laser on FACStar
Plus are using a 5 inch laser focusing optic? Who has tried
both (i.e., the 2 inch vs. 5 inch)? Or are NOT using the
horizontally expanded focusing optic (i.e. half-cylindrical)?
        Comments?

Thanks again for taking the time and especially to the Purdue Folks.
