We use the CD Chex cells routinely for lymphocyte antigens. The standard antigens (2,3,4,5,7,8,19,20, etc.) seem to work fine. We have tried CD 13, 14 and 33 and they have worked. I have not noticed that the background fluorescence is very high but we have not done this much and I will go back and look. We have seen some unusual staining with these cells, for example some vendors anti-CD 10 stain the cells and a target value is listed for CD 10. BD's anti-CD 10 does not stain the cells and CD says the staining for CD 10 is non-specific yet reproducible. Some other less commonly used antigens also stain to different levels of acceptance.
