Short Summary
This book is the fourth edition of a flow cytometry classic. The latest edition
is just fantastic. This is one of the "funnest" textbooks I have ever
read!!There are many books in the field, but this is the only one that covers
everything. The value of the book is in the detailed background that accompanies
each component of flow cytometry instrumentation. The current edition contains
about 566 pages of materials and 100 pages of references. The books is really
well indexed and is just a joy to read. A good deal of the book provides a considerable
expansion of the information in the 3rd Edition. This edition is tremendously
detailed and an absolute must for anyone serious about flow cytometry. What
I like most is that the price is reasonable for this edition. At the time of
printing it was $120 and Wiley offered some good discounts. I will leave this
here so that we know if Wiley decide to kack up the price like the 3rd edition
which started at about $75 and ended up at $190 - a price that was just ridiculous
in my opinion (not that Howard is not worth it, but no student can afford that!)
If you could only buy one book in the field, this is the only book you should
consider!
