I. Introduction Contributors to this Study This study was designed and administered during spring 2001 by the following people: Larry Glickman, Vice Chair of the University Senate; Karen Hall, Director of the Women’s Resource Office; William Harper, Chair of the University Senate Faculty Affairs Committee; Jacqueline Lloyd, graduate student; Andrea Trice, Department of Educational Studies; and Ralph Webb, member of the Faculty Affairs Committee.Members of the Senate Faculty Affairs Committee, as well as a number of other faculty across the campus, participated in pilot testing of the survey instrument. Steve Dunlop, director of the BioScope Initiative on the Purdue campus, led the work involved in administering the survey via the web and Joe Braun of Personnel Services created the email list that we used to communicate with faculty about the survey. This report was written by Andrea Trice, Department of Educational Studies, with assistance from Jacqueline Lloyd and Mash-Ariun Bat-Erdene, both graduate students in that department. The committee who reviewed and made recommendations regarding this report included Larry Glickman, Veterinary Pathobiology; William Harper, Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies; Shirley Rose, English; Cindy Nakatsu, Agronomy; Ralph Webb, Communication; and Lisa Xu, Mechanical Engineering.
