Hello, everyone: Have any of you looked at NK (or K, for that matter) cells in cats? If so, how did you identify them? I would be specifically interested in what CD markers can be used. Also, what scatter population would you gate on from a peripheral blood sample, the lymphocytes, monocytes, or both, or elsewhere? My monoclonal panel for cats is currently a 3-color CD57 / CD4 or CD8 / CD5, plus single-color CD21 and CD45. I'm thinking that the NK cells would likely be CD57(+) (at least a subset), CD8dim and CD5(-). I have been gating on the lymphocyte population, but I wonder if I am gating out the NK cells. I'm also not absolutely sure that they would be CD5(-). Any references on cat NK cells would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
