The Flow Cytometry Resource of Safety Assessment/Cellular Pathology at
GlaxoSmithKline has an opening for an undergraduate co-op student. The
Cellular Pathology Flow Cytometry Resource is involved in toxicological
safety assessment of drugs in development using animal and cell culture
models. The prospective candidate would learn multiple flow cytometry
techniques and instrument platforms. The lab contains three BD
instruments, FACSCalibur, LSR II, FACSDiVa. This is a great opportunity
for an undergraduate with a little bit of flow cytometry experience to
learn to operate multiple flow cytometers, new techniques (up to 8-color)
and to gain industry experience. We are located in King of Prussia, PA,
20 miles west of Philadelphia. The start date is Jan 13, 2003.

Eligibility requirements for GSK co-op program:
1) You must have completed at least 1 year of a 4-year degree program
2) Your university must have a program that allows you to receive
credits for this co-op toward your degree
3) You must be able to do a 6 month tenure (there is the possibility
to extend to 1 year if all parties are amenable)

The perfect candidate would be someone who has spent a little time at the
lab bench, has a little bit of experience with flow cytometry and who
comes recommended by someone that subscribes to this list. Feel free to
forward this to anyone whom you think may be interested.

Prospects should apply online at: www.gsk.com/careers/university_us.htm
The Req ID for this position is 6155

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or need more
information.

Thanks,

Dave
