Dear Maciej,

I never tried to stain PgE2 intracellularly but I can imagine that this will
be a problem. PgE2 is the product of the actions of several enzymes (induced
by cytokines) in the arachidonic acid degradation pathway. It is a potent
player in inflammatory processes and of interest to a lot of immunologists.
Since it not a protein things like PCR are not an option. The EIA is the
most convenient way of looking at the production of PgE2. And the fixation
has probably no effect on the PgE2. Opening the cells will wash away (all)
your prostaglandin(s). Should you still be looking for a EIA kit; the one
from Cayman Chemicals works fine.

Kind regards,

Joost

Dear Group,

Are there any ways to detect PGE2 intracellularly by flow? I've seen
references to ELISA kits but nothing "easier".

Maciej
