Fwd: Dimers, Tetramers, Tracking Dyes, Workshop ISAC XXI

From: Maurice R.G. O'Gorman (mogorman@northwestern.edu)
Date: Mon Apr 29 2002 - 12:45:00 EST

Dear ISAC Congress Participants, all investigators interested in the
assessment of antigen specific lymphocytes (and Tony Bakke see below).

Please bear witness to the Workshop A-V chaired by Maurice (Mo)
O'Gorman:"Analysis of Immune Specific Responses" to be presented
Sunday evening, May 5th from 5 until 7pm (immediately before the
opening reception). Room assignment not yet available.

The workshop will feature formal presentations and discussions by and
with 4 well known experts directly involved with applications using
tetramers, dimers and tracking dyes to investigate antigen specific
lymphocytes.

Dr. John Altman. Updates in the design application of tetramer staining
Dr. Albert Donnenberg. Assessing Sensitivity and Specificity of
MHC-Tetramer Data
Dr. Jonathan Schneck. Recent experience in the development and use
of dimeric antigen-specific T cell reagents
Dr. Andrew Wells: Monitoring specific lymphocyte immune responses in
vitro and in vivo using fluorescent tracking dyes.

Each speaker will present a 15 -20 minute lecture and will be
available to answer questions, including the question below, posed by
Dr. Bakke.

If you have issues and concerns with applications involving these
technologies, this is your chance to discuss these issues with
individuals directly involved in their development and application

Regards

Maurice (Mo) O'Gorman.

 From Dr. Bakke:
<<Dear all,
Our tetramer staining is giving significant background staining in
people who are
negative for the HLA-A2 allele and negative for exposure. The
background is low
intensity. Any suggestions about blocking this background staining?

Thank you,
Tony Bakke>>
