The following position is currently available: FLOW CYTOMETRY CORE LEAD OPERATOR UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS MEDICAL SCHOOL The University of Massachusetts Medical School Core Flow Cytometry Lab currently is seeking a flow cytometry specialist to join the facility staff. Primary responsibilities will be to maintain and operate a triple-beam Mo Flo high speed cell sorter. The laboratory is also equipped with two BD dual-beam FACSCaliburs, one BD FACScan, a BD FACStar+ with Turbosort, and a triple-beam BD FACSVantage. The position requires a B.S. or M.S and at least 3 years of applicable experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to perform a wide variety of analytical and complex sorting experiments on different commercial systems including multilaser, multiparameter functional assays , DNA cell cycle analysis, and FRET measurement. The opportunity exists for the motivated individual to participate in independent research projects and applications development. Excellent oral and interpersonnel skills are required to interact with and participate in the instruction of graduate and postdoctoral students. The University has just opened a new research building (November, 2001) to accommodate 100 new investigators. The facility continues to expand and upgrade its instrumentation base frequently.
