Dear Esper Georges Kallas,

You referred to several publications from CLB and although Dörte Hamman is
not within this research field any more she provided following comments to
your e-mail:
It is true that the distribution of CD4+ cells is different compared to CD8+
cells. Especially the cytotoxic effector cells CD8+ and CD45RA+CD27- are not
present in the CD4+ cells. In stead you will find a higher percentage of
CD45RA-CD27- cells which do also have effector function. Although using the
superior CD27 FITC from CLB this did not change these findings. We assume
that both CD45RA-CD27- as well as the CD45RA+CD27- cells are effector cells.

Best regards,

John
