Hi all: I was one of the first to use 4-color on the Coulter XL and found it quite easy to do. Of course, we were primarily doing T-cell subsets and leukemia panels that had a lot of redunduncy in the tubes. As mentioned by someone else, the key was using the proper clone combinations. We tended use, FITC, PE (coulter), ECD, and tri-color with good results. I like having only one laser to worry about and we had four of the same instruments, again making it simpler to maintain and manage. The main reason I went with coulter XL was the digital processing.
