Dear Douglas,
I don't know exactly, but did you try to find printer extension in
Extensions folder of the System? Maybe there is a control panel for the
same, also! Thought maybe disabling the apple printer extesion in Extension
manager by unchecking its checkbox would help. Another wildcard could be
deleting the same from the extesions folder. If destop printing is turned on
then deleting the printer from desktop migh help.
I hope this would be helpfull...

Cheers!

Viktor

Subject: Mac Printer Question

This may seem to be a simple question, but how do I remove printers from
the available printer list? I am running OS 8.6 and we have removed a
printer from the system but it still appears on the list to print
to. Since it doesn't exist anymore, I will get error messages. We tried
to reinitialize the chooser, but even when the printer doesn't appear on
the chooser, it still appears on the print menu in Cellquest and other
programs. With Windows, you just delete the printer and you are
done. I've asked BD and Tritech repairmen, and neither of them
know. There is probably a simple trick since the Apple is so much easier
than the PC (I don't buy that, but don't kill me for sarcasm - they are
both good systems for what they do.) My problem might be that I am
thinking about this like a Windows user would, so any help would be much
appreciated. Thank you.

Doug
