Core Manager Flow Cytometry Facility The Rockefeller University, Home of the 1999 and 2000 Nobel Prizes in Medicine, seeks a full-time Core Manager to run our busy flow cytometry facility serving more than 25 faculty and their respective laboratory members. Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities and Research Support, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all major facility equipment (Becton Dickinson), providing expert service including multi-color sorting (2 FACSVantage SEs), training scientists on bench top analyzers (FACSCalibur, FACSort, FACScan, LSR), recommending and implementing new technologies, including a planned upgrade to digital, supervising one research technician, assisting researchers with protocol development as required, and administrative duties including billing and usage reports. Position requires a Bachelor's degree in biological or physical science and a minimum of 2 years of experience in flow cytometry; M.S. or Ph.D. and basic research-oriented flow cytometry is preferred. Previous experience with cell sorting or laser scanning cytometry is required. Vendor instrumentation training will be provided. The successful candidate will be independent, innovative, possess strong communication, troubleshooting, and computer skills, and be able to collaborate with scientists in the development and conduct of projects and interpretation of data.
