This would suit a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist or science graduate with extensive experience in immunophenotyping and transplantation (Haematology experience would be an advantage). The position encompasses haemopoeitic stem cell transplant related work using flow cytometry, cell culture techniques as well as diagnostic immunophenotyping using flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry. The applicant will be expected to take part in the interpretation of results together with other technical/scientific staff and Haematologists. The position is for up to one year to cover Parental Leave. The laboratory is an integral component of the haematological oncology and bone marrow transplantation service for Auckland District Health Board, providing a comprehensive flow cytometry service including an immunophenotyping service for leukaemia and lymphoma and has a well established expanding bone marrow and stem cell transplantation programme. The referral population is over 1.2 million and centred in Auckland. AUCKLAND is a cosmopolitan harbour city with a temperate climate and world class facilities for sailing and other ocean related activities, plus easy access to superb beaches, mountains and wilderness areas.
