A background in haematology, particularly haematopoietic stem cells, is a definite asset. The skill set required includes: * Tissue culture, cell and molecular biology; * Gene transfer, particularly into haematopoietic cells; * Working with retroviruses, including HIV; * Principles and implementation of Good Manufacturing and Good Laboratory Practice; Appointment at the level of Research Assistant/ Research Associate requires a BSc or BSc (Hons) degree and at the level of Postdoctoral Scientist, a PhD or equivalent. These are two year fixed positions in the first instance, and will be at the interface between research and clinical application.
