Hello, everyone! We're doing some research in a cat model system and I have heard that the HNK-1 clone (anti-human CD57) cross-reacts with cat CD57. According to Linscott's, there is an HNK-1 clone available from BD and Caltag - but their on-line catalogs don't list it. I'm beginning to suspect that HNK-1 may not actually be a clone, but rather a "pre-CD57" terminology. Do any of you know of a clone named HNK-1 and where it can be purchased? There are several other anti-human CD57 clones that are available. Is it reasonable to expect that if one CD57 clone cross-reacts with cat CD57 that all CD57 clones would cross-react, or would each clone need to be tested? (I'm guessing that each would need to be tested.) Also, all of the CD57 clones that I've found are IgM! And few are availble in any form other than purified or FITC-conjugate. Is there an reason why they would all be IgM isotype? And do you know of a source of biotinylated - or color other than FITC - CD57? And then, if you have any "hot news" about the significance of CD57+CD4+ and CD57+CD8+ (vs. the CD57- varieties) lymphocytes, please pass it on. Thanks in advance.
