Hey gang, The Clinical folks here want to sort cells to use for FISH. Apparently, we can't fix the cells. What are people's thoughts on this? I've spent all of my time sorting Transfectants, and fixed cells. So biohazardous samples are a new thing for me. I've got an Elite, and a MoFlo I can sort with. I'm not overly excited about making millions of little droplets with unfixed patient material in them. So 1) can this be done safely, and how? Tips etc. for each instrument will be greatly appreciated. 2) is there a FISH procedure we don't know about that would work with fixed cells? Which would negate the problem of unfixed material. Thanks, Chris
